Saturday 21st June was a
perfect day for a beach ride around to Woorim with a very low tide at
10.30 a.m, a beautiful morning with no wind.
A few hardy souls managed to negotiate
onto the beach at South Esplanade while the remainder joined the group at Red
Beach.
The 14 riders enjoyed a great ride to
Woorim with the sand reasonably hard all the way. The Sandgate Canoe
Club had also decided to do a paddle from Bongaree to Dingo Creek
(half way up Woorim Beach) so we are told. We were amazed at the
speed they were travelling which was about equal to our speed on the
bikes!
After an hour's rest (and coffee, of
course) at Woorim, six riders rode the return trip back to Bongaree
Jetty. Joyce even kept riding past the jetty along the beach on
the passage side.
It was an enjoyable ride with many
looking forward to the next beach ride.
